Water container for rural Uganda
Lorrin Windahl recently designed a water container for use in rural Uganda. The water container is used to fetch water, store water & filter water. It addresses various issues associated with children fetching unfiltered water in rural Uganda.

The design makes it easier to fetch water because the container can be wheeled along eradicating the need to carry the traditional 20L jerry can on the head. It also ensures that the nasty bugs that often cause serious health problems are filtered out with the aid of the ceramic filter. The design can also help to generate an income for the local community as the filters can be produced by local people with local materials.

"Good design, at least part of the time, includes the criterion of being direct in relation to the problem at hand - not obscure, trendy, or stylish."
