Inhale clay stove for rural Uganda
The design also includes a chimney to direct the smoke away from the user. The higher lip at the back of the stove acts as an additional barrier between the smoke and the user.
The stove is made from clay which is readily available in rural areas of Uganda. The process is a simple coil technique which is easy for novice potters to learn. This enables the stoves to be made by villagers who may have had little education and have limited financial resources to start a business. They can take this design and start to generate an income with minimal set-up costs.
