Inhale clay stove for rural Uganda
Lorrin Windahl recently designed a clay stove for rural Uganda. Traditional stoves in this region are extremely inefficient causing an increased use of solid biomass fuels which can lead to major health problems. The Inhale Stove is aimed at increasing stove efficiency, reducing the amount of fuel used and therefore minimising the amount of smoke produced when cooking. Improved efficiency directly benefits the economy, environment and health of the people.

The Inhale clay stove is shaped to allow various saucepan sizes to sit snugly inside. This reduces the chance of the heat escaping before it reaches the pot and as a result reduces the amount of fuel required for cooking. Next>>

"Good design, at least part of the time, includes the criterion of being direct in relation to the problem at hand - not obscure, trendy, or stylish."
